Visiting Us

The museum is located in Mitcham, Surrey. We can be found in London Road, Mitcham on the Lower Green. We are located in the Annex next door to the former Mitcham Town Hall building The Vestry Hall.

The following buses pass the museum:
118 from Morden and Brixton, 127 from Tooting Broadway and Purley, 200 from Raynes Park and Mitcham Fair Green, 201 from Morden and Herne Hill, 280 from Tooting and Belmont, and the S1 from Banstead. For the 118, 201 and 280 get off at the Cricket Green stop. For the S1 get off at the last stop Lower Green. For the 127 and 200 get off at Glebe Court stop. 

Nearest Tram Stop is Mitcham. Turn right when exiting the stop into London Road. The museum is about a 10 minute walk.

Nearest National Rail Stations are Mitcham Eastfields and Mitcham Junction. Mitcham Eastfields is an approximately 20 minute walk. Head towards Mitcham Town Centre along Laburnam Road into St Mark's Road, across Fair Green and into London Road. Mitcham Junction is an approximately 30 minutes walk or take the 127 bus. Walk along London Road/Carshalton Road until Crammer Road. Turn left into Crammer Road and then continue straight on into Cricket Green at mini roundabout. At the lights turn right into London Road. The museum is 200 years on your left.

For those of you who travel by car and use a Sat Nav our postcode is CR4 3UD. Parking is not available at the museum. Cars may be parked in local streets near to the museum but please observe any parking restrictions.

We have a large amount of information for you to see and suggest you allow at least 45-60 minutes for your visit.

Wheel chair access is available. Access may be difficult for larger motorised wheelchairs. Please, if possible, contact the museum in advance.

Please note that there are no toilets available for public use.

We are able to cater for large groups but we do ask that you contact us in advance to make the most of your visit. Additional activities are available for groups for a small charge.
